Honeymoon in Vegas

Private detective Jack Singer has a bad case of cold feet. Having promised his beloved Mother on her deathbed that he would never marry, he now faces losing his girlfriend if he doesn't agree to tie the knot with her. Sarah Jessica Parker plays Betsy, Singer's long-suffering girlfriend. Betsy is getting broody. She wants to start a family and is fed up with Jack's apparent commitment phobia.

Convinced she's about to walk out on him, Jack finally agrees to make her an honest woman by whisking her off to Las Vegas that very weekend to be married. Sarah is thrilled, right up until Jack changes his mind only seconds after stepping from the plane! Needing to blow off a little steam, Jack ducks into their hotel's casino. Here he meets with professional gambler and trickster Tommy Korman, played by James Caan. Korman quickly cons Jack into playing a game of fixed poker.

Inevitably, Jack loses out, running up a huge debt to the casino in the process and with seemingly no way of paying it back. At this point Korman offers Jack a way out. Betsy is a dead ringer for his ex wife and, having spotted her earlier in the hotel's lobby, he now wants to spend the weekend with her. In return, he tells Jack he'll forget about the debt.

Jack tells Betsy. Betsy refuses point blank. Only when she thinks it'll teach Jack a lesson does she agree to spend the weekend with Korman. In a flash, Tommy jets her off to Hawaii and soon starts to win her over with his smooth crook charm. Terrified he's about to lose her for real, Jack follows them and does his best to ruin the entire weekend. In one of the films most memorable scenes, Jack even jumps from a plane with a squadron of flying Elvis's in his attempt to win her back. Who said romance was dead!
