Walgreens is a nice neighborhood pharmacy they offer so much more than your average drug store. Open 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year makes Walgreens a convenient place to pull into on the way home from work for a gallon of milk or to pick up a last minute card or gift.

With only two lines I am always surprised at how quickly they move you right through. The cashiers are polite and hand you your change instead of toss it on the counter like some places do. I have even had a manager or stock boy offer to help me to my car with my purchases. No I'm not elderly or disabled I just buy a lot! I find their prices to be great and their sales are awesome.

PHARMACY

I no longer use Walgreens pharmacy only because I found one within walking distance of my home that's more convenient for me. However their pharmacy services are excellent prescription prices are comparable to CVS and Rite Aid.

They have an automated call in service for refills which is nice as you can select your pick up time. They will fax your doctor for a renewal if your prescription is out of refills.

They offer the drive thru window service which is great when the temperatures are well above 90 degrees and if they are not busy they will even take the time to grab you a loaf of bread or the newest issue of TIME magazine and you can pay for it all at the drive thru window. Now that's great customer service!

Mail order prescriptions are another service they offer. You can expect your medications to arrive in your mailbox with in a week after ordering them.

* Contact Lenses *

As a contact wearer I do order my lenses through Walgreens. I love this program they carry the top ten brands and can order other brand for you. The price of my contacts through Walgreens is much cheaper (close to 50 percent) than ordering them at the eye doctor or even at sites such as 1-800 contacts.
You can place your order online, in person, by mail, phone and fax. All you need is your prescription from your eye doctor. The contacts are mailed to you within 7 to 10 days and shipping is free on orders over $50.

* The Prescription Savings Club *

This is a wonderful plan for individuals with out prescription plans. Enrollment is $20 a year for an individual or $35 a year for the family.

The plan is designed for people to get three months of their prescriptions for only $12.99. Plus discounts on other medications you may need. While it isn't as good of a deal as Wal-Mart's and Targets $4 prescriptions it's still better than paying
