Luxury pool trends

It wasn't so long ago that swimming pools were classified as a status symbol of the upper class tenants. But these days it is a very common place occurrence, to see pools in many back yards. It is actually noted by the National Pool & Spa Institute, that well over 8 million houses worldwide, now have a swimming pool.

The mass market increase within the pool industry, has now seen the pool marketing designers, taking swimming pool designs to a great new height. With some superb new innovations in design and technology, we are now seeing an influx of sensational new pool designs, which will have you gasping in admiration.

With that said, I will endeavor to show you exactly what the new trends are, which are making a huge splash (pardon the pun) within the pool marketing world.

The old white plaster finish which we once saw in almost every pool, has now gone to greener pastures, killed off by boredom and a totally new concept in manufacturing. Yes, that bland eyesore is now replaced by such things as exposed aggregate, and in many cases some awesome glass tiles which come in some amazing hues. These certainly add to the "eye candy" of a well designed pool.

Yes the hottest thing to happen to the pool is the new designs which incorporate the glass tile, not cheap by any means, but certainly a marvelous face-lift to the once mundane white cements which we once saw. Now we see a splendid rainbow of colors, which certainly will have your pool looking like something which stepped out of Hollywood setting.Totally stunning!

These come with patterned swirls, bubble effects, and varied shading. In some cases the beautiful tiles are actually made from recycled glass, which certainly adds to environmental protection. Having had my pool made from exposed aggregate, I can certainly say that it looks superb. We also chose a non-porous aggregate, which is based on a new technology which actually gives you at least 8 ply's of protection, from leakages and cracks. This adds to the life of your pool.

Compared to other pools in our area, ours was a much more realistic look, we chose a defined sky blue swirl shade. This had our pool not only looking inviting, but as if the water had been scooped up from the Caribbean. It was so blue, and certainly gave a feel of being out in the ocean instead of a backyard. All we needed were the palm trees swaying in the gentle breeze!
