Travel destinations: Galveston, TX

Galveston, Texas is a wonderful vacation spot for the whole family. With it's many attractions, beautiful beaches, and exciting night life there is something to be enjoyed by all. If you are planning a cruise into or out of this enticing port, or just a weekend getaway, try to plan a few extra days to absorb all the wonder that is Galveston.

One of the feature attractions is their Moody Gardens. Along with it's world class space exhibits, rainforest pyramid, and lovely exotic gardens; there are also several restaurants, ice skating, an IMAX theater, and an aquarium exhibit showcasing animals from around the world.

There are many historic sights to be seen in and around Galveston. The amazing, and thoroughly captivating, architecture of the Bishop's Palace. With tours held daily by the half hour. There is, too, the Lone Star Fight Museum and the Texas Aviation museum for the aeronautical enthusiast in all of us. The historical Strand District has many historic and history-in-the-making points of interest. Tours hosted by local citizens make for informational, entertaining and informal outings.

The pink-awning of the open air Treasure Island Tour Train makes for colorful snapshots to share for years to come. The tour covers approximately 17 miles of both the old Galveston and the newer, more modern points of the city. It is an hour and a half of relaxing entertainment.

Considering the fact that Galveston is a Gulf island paradise, you would expect a large gathering of nautical and sea worthy attractions. You will not be disappointed. From the variety of engaging activities at Seawolf Park with it's military vessel display and three story observation tower, to the Sea Turtle Tours that showcase an endangered species and an interactive exhibit demonstrating tagging for tracking and recovery.

The 'Seagull II' provides the Dolphin Watch tour. An hour long coastal tour, featuring performances by some of the gulf's most graceful creatures. The Galveston Party Boats provide some of the best chartered deep-sea fishing in the world. Don't let the grandeur of the Port of Galveston pass you by.

As for the single to couples only travelers, the night life of Galveston is a memory to make. They boast some of the finest restaurants and clubs of Texas. The Gulf Stream Stables can provide a romantic horseback ride along the beach. Galveston Island Outdoor Musical is an 1,800 seat outdoor theater that is most appropriate for the revival of some of the classic Broadway musicals, such as "The Sound of Music", suitable for a romantic evening or a family adventure.

The hotel accommodations are superb. There are quiet, cozy love nests. Sport fishing paradises and family friendly childhood memories-in-the-making. There is a perfect get away, waiting in Galveston, sure to please each and every one of you.

Whether it is a family vacation, a romantic get away, or just a relaxing fishing experience. Whatever your fancy, you will fancy Galveston, Texas as a number one place to go.
