This shows that the Labor Party's enthusiasm for solving the issue of climate change and making informed decisions when formulating policy.

The Australian Labor Party has laid down several intended policies to fight both the current and predicted issues that will result from Climate Change. They have proposed a policy to combat Australia's water crisis. This addresses the issue of conflict due to the overlapping responsibilities of several governmental bodies through the forming of a Single Federal Government Agency' .

The party has put forward a proposal with respect to Australia's Coal Industry. This is a proposal to launch a National Clean Coal Initiative' which aims to use cleaner coal technology as an attempt to reduce the nation's greenhouse gas emissions.

One of the latest proposals made by the Labor Party is a $2 Billion Green Car Partnership' . This proposal addresses the issue of climate change by investing in low emission technologies' which will cut down on the 13% of total greenhouse gas emissions which Australia's transport sector produces. It also benefits Australia's struggling automotive industry by establishing a greater number of secure jobs.

The Australian Liberal Party is taking a more cautious stance on climate change. Malcolm Turnbull has identified that there is a problem and is addressing the issue of climate change through focusing on the problems it is creating for Australia.

We know that our climate is going to get warmer and it will continue to get warmer for many decades regardless of what is done by way of mitigating the emission of greenhouse gases'

The above quote suggests that the Liberal Party has accepted climate change as an unavoidable obstacle. Turnbull is focusing particularly on Australia's water crisis. John Howard intends to control the Murray-Darling Basin at a Federal rather than State level.

Howard promises to give $10 billion in water projects to save the river system. In return he asks the States to allow control to be taken at a Federal level. He has made claims
