Global mass media has been undoubtedly irresponsible in creating the tabloid monster that is Paris Hilton. Somebody who, without a famous family name, would likely live in complete obscurity is now broadcast and printed all over the world when ever her dog goes to the groomer. They have abused their power as purveyors of information in order to earn a cheap buck. Paris Hilton, as well as being a general confound to the basic principles of common sense, could arguably be viewed even as a catalyst for terrorism towards America.

She is perhaps the most widely viewed female celebrity from the United States. Thus, she is one of the most widely viewed portrayal of an American. She therefore plays a large part in the perception of America.

It is common knowledge that America is generally disliked in most parts of the world; some parts more than others. The overwhelming opinion, even in the regions that only slightly despise America, tends to be that we as American's are ignorant, arrogant, and spoiled. Who embodies all of these qualities more than Paris Hilton? The woman who was quoted saying, "Wal-mart do they make walls there?" and "I don't really think, I just walk," obviously has the ignorant part covered. She was arrogant enough to trade mark the phrase, "that's hot," as if she invented the saying (that should count as a point towards ignorance as well). And what could be a better definition of spoiled? She doesn't posses a single talent or marketable skill, and yet she has all the money she could ever want at her disposal and is known the entire world over. Her great fortune is not earned, but given to her. Further more, though she is in a position through her fame and fortune to unprecedented good throughout the world, she instead uses it to party and indulge herself in countless superficial endeavors. I'm willing to bet that one night out on the town for Paris Hilton could feed a small village of starving children in Africa for at least a year.

Now, these are only a few of the universally maddening qualities she posses. Everybody the world over can be bugged by these, but in some areas of the world, the places that tend to produce terrorists, these only severely magnify the rest of her countless disgusting attributes. She defies most of their basic beliefs. She has pre marital sex, she dresses like a street walker, and she is in general a complete waste of a human life. Once these qualities are then projected on the general American population, an easily hated target is produced.

Any American knows, she is not a fair representation of America. The average Americans work hard, possess common sense, and even strive to better the world around them. It is completely irresponsible for the media to parade Paris Hilton around the world over like she's important, and further more, it is dangerous. It is largely the fault of the media and Paris Hilton that the world's perception of America is so misconstrued. Now you know who to thank next time a terrorist kills on American soil.
