I would have to say that at this point and time the XBox 360 is a little better than the PlayStation3 overall. I have several reasons for this decision. The 360 has more games because it was released before the PS3. Some of the games it has aren't available on any other system, which is not the case for the PS3, there are few to none that aren't available on the PS2.

The PS3 is more expensive than the 360, but doesn't offer enough perks to make up for the price difference. The 360 has an HD dvd player while the PS3 has blu-ray. Most people don't have the TV to take advantage of the blu-ray, which is why it is so much more expensive, and useless to most. The PS3 doesn't take advantage of the graphics quality in their games as much as the 360 does.

The 360 Live is also way better than what the PS3 has to offer. You can by Microsoft points and get games that go right on the hard drive of the 360. This is an awesome perk for me. It has a lot of the classic games that you can't neccessarily get on a normal game disc. I would say that the 360 by far wins over the PS3. With the 360 you can see if your friends are online, send and recieve messages, and you will be able to check out the Xbox Live Marketplace and Xbox Live Arcade, which is where you will find the downloadable games I spoke of earlier. You can play your homemade DVDs on the 360, which isn't the case for the PS3. You can also download your music directly to the hard drive of the machine. It has a cool visual effect that it uses while playing music which is just one of the many little things that makes the 360 great overall.

To end my little note about these game systems, I would like to say that if you are just a casual gamer I would not recomend the 360 or the PS3. I would suggest getting a Wii. It is a much better console for those people who are just looking to spend a little money on something that is new, fun, and totally different than any video game console so far. And the best part about the Wii is that it is over $100 cheaper than both the other systems. Which is what made me buy the Wii first before the PS3 and 360.
