may cause damage if they become wet and left in place.
Craft Material.

Jean squares are great to use for blankets, quilts and pillows. Just cut up the legs into desired squares and save up until you have the required amount of squares for your project. Save the pockets also as you may want them to adorn a project. A jean patchwork pillow with pockets makes a great gift for a teen girls room.

Draft Buster

When winter comes draft busters are a must. Use the cut off leg of jeans for an inexpensive draft buster. Cut length desired then sew one end. Fill the leg with sand and sew the other end. Place in front of the door to keep the draft at bay. You could line the leg with plastic to keep the sand from escaping and to add further insulation.

Animal Toys

Cut desired shape of material and double sew the seams allowing a small opening for stuffing. Then double sew the material to prevent the stuffing from escaping. Make sure there is no buttons or beads that the animals may swallow.

For larger dogs cut strips of jeans and knot the end. Braid the strips and tie in a knot then continue braiding. Knot again on the end. This makes a good tug of war toy. Just remember no buttons or baubles due to choking.

Wind Socks

Cut the leg off of the jeans. Sew around the top making a small hem. Measure down the leg about 8 inches and mark with a pen. Cut the leg up to the mark making inch wide strips. Use a piece of thin wire run through the hem to keep the leg open with 4 snips to attach leather or jute cords for hanging. Decorate with fabric paint to make the design your own.

Garden Knee Pads

Measure the length of your leg 3 inches above your knee to 3 inches below your knee. Cut 4 pieces the length needed. Cut a piece of foam an inch shorter than the material, then sew the 2 pieces of jean material together and insert foam. Sew the material shut. Add elastic strips to hold pads in place but not to tight as to affect circulation when you bend down on your knees.

For a long kneepad to lie on the ground simply sew on one end and insert a piece of foam to fit. Close the other end with Velcro. When the pad gets dirty just remove the foam and throw pad cover in the washing machine.
