How to incorporate exercise on your next vacation

Vacation, a time to relax and rewind from your busy stressful lifestyle, and often we neglect the need to keep a healthy exercise routine so keep us fit throughout the vacation. Incorporating exercising into your vacation doesn't need to be stressful and in fact, is easy with just a little bit of change with the way you travel on your vacation as well as little things to get you along the way.

1. Walk more. Whether it be going through airport terminals or in the streets of Paris, try to walk and use the stairs rather than the escalators and elevators. By keeping your body moving and active, you are assisting with circulation and metabolism so that you can deserve the extra dessert at the of end your dinner.

2. Use your surroundings. If you have an exercise routine at home, such as walking or jogging on the streets, why not keep up with it? No matter where you travel there is bound to be a park, or along the river bank where locals hang out and walk their dogs. Join them in the morning or in the afternoon after a day of sightseeing for a jog and enjoy being submerged int the local lifestyle. You never know you might just meet some new friends and have yourself free city guides for the next day!

3. Participate in more physical activities. Many vacation spots offer outdoor activities that are fun and exciting. Things like kayaking on a lake, hiking into the forests, water sports such as para-sailing, horse riding and many more, will not only allow you to see more of the place from a different angle, it is also a fun and great way of exercising.

4. Use the free facilities in your hotel. If your hotel has a pool or gym facilities, why not use them? After all, you have paid to stay in the hotel, you are entitled to use as much of their facilities as you like while keeping yourself fit.

5. Use your 'idle' times well. Do you spend an hour in front of the tv in your hotel room each night, just sitting around and eating snacks? Well, this is the perfect time to do some real exercise that will keep you fit and healthy on your vacation and after. Try squats and sit ups while you watch your favorite show, stretches and push ups between commercials means you can do these exercise in your own space and workout just like every other day at home.

To avoid coming home and feeling like you need to catch up on your health routines, it is important to incorporate some exercise into your vacation time and there are plenty of ways you can do this while keeping your holiday fun.
