All of these things will be determined by the choices made throughout our early lives. But the great thing is, that none of them is set in stone. It is never too late to start making different decisions. Learning to make rational choices rather than rash reactions is not an easy process, but people who become conscious of their poor choices can begin to make better ones.
It doesn't happen over night. There are consequences to every decision. And some of those old consequences will still be tumbling down long after you start making better choices. But every good decision is an investment in the future. There are no short cuts. The future is built one decision at a time.
Learning to make good decisions requires three simple steps:
- 1. Recognize when you are making a decision. Don't allow yourself to just react!
- 2. Stop and consider your choices and decide which one you believe is best.
- 3. Do the best thing. Choose the best path even though the others are easier or
seem quicker. Choose the path you know is best for you.
Don't let your future be ransomed to the bad choices of today. Don't let today's choices be determined by bad patterns set up in the past. Express your best self. Make the best choice you can each day. Then you never have to look back with regret. You're best is not always good enough to get you what you want today, but your best today will always bring a better life for you tomorrow. Stick with it and you'll get the very richest rewards of life!
