Outdated, definitely. To have an arranged marriage? How do you know those two you have arranged a marriage for them, even perhaps before they were born would fall in love with each other? Is it anyones right to say who we will marry and live with for the rest of our lives? Even if it doesn't work out be forced to live with that person and go threw all that you do all on account that its all been set forth for you?
Isn't that what marriage is all about? Being so in love with a person that you wish to spend your whole life with and maybe share a family together with?
Todays day, marriages aren't happening as often as they once did. Changing times and living with your lover instead of being married to them makes even the thought of prearranged marriages unbelievable. Its acceptable in todays society to just live together without the legality of being married all together.
Sure you can pick the path for your child but you take their rights away from them. Parenting has to have its guidelines.
In some religions its the custom to have a prearranged marriage or in the matter of the very very rich who wish their child to not marry into anyone other then if they have the royalties they know hold.
When it comes to the religion part of the would tradition that would be a hard one to say whether its outdated or not to have an arranged marriage. You still, however have to question is it right to take the choice away from your child? There is so much that has changed from years past and that stretches over many topics of discussion for today there is peer pressure like you wouldn't believe not to mention fitting in among the teenagers.
It would be very hard in todays world of living to go about your day with someone that got chosen for you. Wouldn't that be very difficult and hard to do? Especially if you do not like this person that you are married to? Looking around you would see that its not like that for everyone. Being left out of the majority of people would be a difficult task.
While your friends are having fun dating and falling in and out of love, you wouldn't be able to have the right to as your marriage was set out for you.
Times have changed so much that even the tradition of being married, let alone a prearranged one, is long over with.
