A consensus of scientist and climate specialist concluded in the U.N. IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) report that, "Most of the global average warming over the past 50 years is very likely due to anthropogenic (derived from human activities) GHG (greenhouse gas) increases . . ." Most people interested in the climate change phenomena have seen the "saw-toothed chart" showing the tight correlation between increasing carbon dioxide (CO2) concentrations in the atmosphere and increased global temperatures, i.e., Global Warming. Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore highlighted this chart in his book and Oscar-winning documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth." The chart shows clear and convincing proof that increasing the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere will result in increasing global ambient temperatures.
With such data before us it is readily easy to understand that if power plants, automobiles and industry in general produce large quantities of CO2 that this CO2 undoubtedly could cause an increase in global temperatures. Another scientific consensus is that the Earth has been experiencing rising temperatures, especially since the 1970s. This takes us back to the U.N. IPCC Report, "(Since 1970) Changes in the ocean and on land, including observed decreases in snow cover and Northern Hemisphere sea ice extent, thinner sea ice, shorter freezing seasons of lake and river ice, glacier melt, decreases in permafrost extent, increases in soil temperatures and borehole temperature profiles, and sea level rise, provide additional evidence that the world is warming."
These facts prove that human activity is a primary cause of the current Global Warming Crisis and as John Adams once stated, "Facts are stubborn things!" If facts are stubborn things, then what are Laws of Nature? To borrow from Mr. Gore, they are additional "Inconvenient Truths." These Laws of Nature are laws, not suggestions.
Have you ever wondered why a carbonated (dissolved CO2) soft drink goes flat" if you don't drink it? One Law of Nature provides a correlation between CO2 and water simply stated, the higher the pressure in the water the more CO2 can be dissolved in water (i.e., having higher solubility); conversely, the lower the pressure the less CO2 can be dissolved in water. Thus when you open the can or bottle of soft drink you get the distinctive whoosh of pressure release. However the drink tastes fine, plenty of carbonation. Let is sit and "yuck," no carbonation. As the can or bottle
