Defining heaven (a Christian concept) we find it is too perfect for most good living people, just as hell is too bad for most people. Heaven and Hell are extremes as concepts of the afterlife. They contain the spirit of those who have passed from the earth life. And without perfection it seems most of us are doomed (by this definition) to hell. Those without sin stand and be counted.
The only requirement for the afterlife is death of the physical body. The death of the body sets the spirit, with mind and soul free to move into another vibration of existence. That existence is called by some heaven. But the narrow concepts defined of heaven leave us wanting more understanding.
The afterlife actually contains 7 spheres of existence with many planes on each sphere. These are vibration spheres where spirituality is the key.
They are defined as those closest to the earth and inter-penetrating it as the animal level at which human existence that has not learned spirituality resides. They are often stuck around the earth as their last focus of attention.
Level 2 is much the same with some learning going on and perhaps an awakening realization (as happens with most good living on earth) that God has a hold on their lives and they can move into higher spirituality.
The third level is much like earth plane living with houses, people, trees, flowers and sunshine like on earth. This is the level at which most good living people gravitate with their spirituality involved.
With some of the more spiritually advanced souls (Gandhi comes to mind) they gravitate to the 4th level because of their understanding of spirituality, even while yet in the body on earth.
The 5th, 6th, 7th are more spiritually advanced as we learn and grow. The higher can come down to the level of the lower to help bring them on spiritually. Angels occupy even the first level to bring about spiritual change and progress.
The entrance examination is of the soul which contains all earth's lessons and is recorded in the light within the spirit. Spirituality embracing love is the entrance requirement. Death of the body allows the freedom to express this spirituality without the energies of matter holding it back.
