Why military intervention in Darfur, Sudan would be a more noble cause than the Iraq War

Military intervention in Darfur, Sudan and the other African countries guilty of mass killings, and human sufferings would be a great and honorable cause for any country. Truth is, no one is interested in taking on the job. Since the days of the Persian Gulf war, Iraq lay rather quietly across the ocean and desert, being no eminent threat to America. Allegedly we were there to aid Kuwait and that was accomplished during the former President Bush's administration.

During former President Bill Clinton's term, the United States had no problems with Iraq that led to even a mention of war. Had the tragedy of 911 never occurred, current President Bush would have had to conjure up a more strategic reason to invade Iraq, one that the American public would accept. That fateful day for the innocent gave him his agenda to attack Iraq, while Africa again gets overlooked for her genocide. It happened in Rowanda, Uganda, and now in Darfur.

News woman Ann Curry of THE TODAY SHOW, is on special assignment in Darfur, interviewing a fourteen year old girl from the regiion. Her womb is so severely damaged from being raped by more soldiers than she can count, that she has undergone surgery to
repair it. The young teen tells the world how she watched as soldiers killed her father and mother before her eyes. The girl fled through the forest, only to be captured by soldiers who raped her four days until she couldn't stand, then left her for dead. She quotes them as saying, "Just as we killed your parents, we are going to put an end to you forever and ever." They left her pregnant with a still born baby girl.

Such a sad truth is nothing knew in this region. For the past ten years at least ten thousand women have been raped, and it continues. The soldiers are lawless and cruel.

Trinity Broadcast Network has aired children whose faces have been mutilated by soldiers and Arabs from Northern Africa raiding the villages in Sudan for sex and house slaves. Those left behind have had babies cut out of wombs, noses, ears, fingers, genitals, breasts, and lips cut off. Many died, some survive to tell the tale the world ignores.

The only ones in America being noble towards the plight in Africa are celebrities such as Don Cheadle, Brad Pitt, and George Clooney, and a few others. Danny Glover was instrumental in bringing attention to South Africa during their right to vote struggles, and Oprah Winfrey of course built a girl's school.
Recently Steven Spielberg refuses to honor his commitment to
