Stress what is this term that plays such a defining role for so many in our lives today. There are the levels that require immediate attention because not doing so leaves us plummeting in free fall. Then there's the silent and can prove deadly variety. Most stress we manage and modify our behaviours to negate its detrimental effects. Life's experiences help us to understand and negotiate stressful situations. When we start new employment for example there will be a bedding in period but because we have gone through similar we don't increase the effects by adversely over reacting. If the situation is new very often allot of us don't realize what level of action or reaction is normal and even if a well planed strategy was put in place dealing with situational variants can throw us.

With stress you must address the problems and look for the cause. In the work situation supervision is a brilliant tool for some jobs and people are amazed at what they end up saying to the psychologist. Once you know where the problem areas are you can start instigating necessary strategies. Often it seems we make things worse for ourselves by over analysing what could happen and when we actually do it wonder what all the fuss was about.

Looking at your life and asking yourself some good questions can enable problem areas to be tuned. Communication is such an important asset and with it many problems can be discussed with peers or fellow work mates. Education and seeking advice are imperative on the quest forward. There is so much help available out there and gone are the days when it is looked at as a weakness you in fact get allot more respect openly owning difficulties.

One other tool that should be at the top of everybody's list is writing things down. Brainstorm the problem or your life if you're looking at change and want to improve. Writing down all the things your proud of and enjoy and then all the things you want to think about in a bit more depth. So instead of one big problem you have all these manageable sized bits. Now some stuff is a given but still have a look by either talking to people, reading or discuss it with the other half. This will give you a chance to set goals and work towards positive change.

For example say your job is underpaid, the boss is a difficult individual
