How to unlock your innate potential

Society is an interesting thing. It both allows us to live freely and limits our potential simultaneously. From the moment we hit a certain young age, we are shipped off to school and taught that we need to study and get good grades in order to have a happy and successful life.

And so, the majority of us do just that. By the time we reach college, we have chosen a career in which we will supposedly spend the rest of our lives either mastering or slaving over in order to make a living'.

But how many of us, at that young age, really knew what we wanted to do? How many of us were encouraged to explore our different interests? Many of us chose to become doctors because our parents were doctors. Some lawyers because lawyers earn good money. And yet many others electricians because we spent too much time partying in college to graduate.

The sad truth is that, by the time we come to the realization that our personal skills and interests were given to us for a purpose (that is, to use them), it is usually too late or too risky to follow where they could lead us. And thus, the majority of civilization remains unsatisfied, living on the outskirts of their full potential.

The first problem lies within the confines of our early education. We are taught to believe that we will and, indeed, should, follow one path in life. You study to become a doctor, and a doctor is what you will be until the day you die. But we humans, like all things in life, both animate and inanimate, are changing. Even a desert was an ocean once. And so, you see, we will probably have an array of passions throughout our journey here on earth. And there is nothing wrong with that! In fact, that's what makes life so interesting; the not knowing what will come next; the thrilling anticipation of seeing where life will take you.

So what does it feel like when we have unlocked our innate potential? I think that it is important to recognize this in a realistic manner, as there are so many misconceptions about people who are living their dream' life. Even people who have found their passion in life and who are truly doing what they do best, are not happy 100% of the time, although we can bet that the majority of the time they are. And life isn't always a breeze for them either. They still have to do boring errands and difficult chores and sometimes they will encounter major crises. But you can guarantee that they are at peace with themselves and that is more than the most of us can ever hope for.

In my case, I
