Foods that increase testosterone

THINK ZINC . . . . . catchy eh?

That would be my first piece of advice, increase your zinc levels and you will increase your testosterone levels, it's that simple.

Hang on lets go back to the beginning, why do we need to increase testosterone levels in the first place.

The modern world takes its toll on us everyday in so many ways that it would be mind-blowing to understand them all. One of the major effects on men is dwindling testosterone levels and conversely increased oestrogen (female hormone) levels. This scenario can lead to an increase in depression and even be the onset of "male menopause"

What's that?

You thought the ladies had the menopause corner of the market cornered, not so; although it is a common misconception that menopause only affects the female of the species, it is actually very common in the guys too, although often diagnosed under a myriad of other guises. Usually the major single symptom is used to make a diagnosis; any peripheral maladies are treated as just that peripheral.

So what are the main contributory factors of this scourge of the perceived essence of maleness?

Well smoking is one of the major contributors, followed by the modern day chestnut STRESS! (Doesn't it seem to be behind every conceivable illness these days?) And sorry guys, fry-ups and alcohol are out too, at least until those testosterone levels are back up and running.

But if you were going to attempt to pinpoint the one predominant single solitary factor that is the absolute key to falling testosterone levels in today's society, you would have to say;

THE MODERN DIET

Men in particular do not eat in a way that fits their genetic profile, since the time of cavemen; testosterone and muscle have gone hand in hand as the key to the male form. It has always been a given fact throughout history that men have fulfilled their role in any society based on the hierarchy of manliness, it may seem irrelevant and erroneous in the modern world, but men throughout history up until fairly recently have strived to beat their chest the loudest, and be the alpha male of their particular tribe. Junk food and poor dietary habits have killed this testosterone excess and muscle mass fuelled obsession and cancelled out a lot of the old Neanderthal characteristics. This is not such a bad thing though as there is far less bare knuckle street fighting than in bygone ages right!

Well in a way yes, but now the modern male physiology is having a bit of an identity crisis, it knows that something is wrong
