I once heard someone say that being in love means never having to say you're sorry. To me however, I think it is the opposite. Being in love means getting through challenges and maybe sometimes backing down and apologizing to the other person involved. Being in love means walks hand in hand just enjoying the company of each other. Not needing to be doing anything special to have a good time. Snowball fights and flying kites. Days spent out and nights tucked in. Love is wanting to know every single bit of information about the other person no matter what it is. Favorite color? What about Favorite texture?
Love is watching that awful movie over and over again just because that someone else can't get enough of it. Sure you want to hide under a pillow and cry, but you still offer to make the popcorn. Love is holding them all night long when they can't sleep, and not wanting to move when they finally do even though half of your own body is numb. The feeling will come back eventually anyway. Being in love means a little give and take or possibly just plain giving something up all together. Understanding why the one you love so dearly might not want you doing what they asked you to give up. Being in love means feeling your heart fill when you close your eyes and see their face. How you make sure everything looks good when you know they are on their way to see you. That feeling of anxiety as the pull up and the relief as you hold them in your arms.
Love also means letting go. Tears of hope, passion, fear. Fear of the unknown but taking a leap of faith anyway. Love means watching them walk away to find themselves in their own way. Love means trust and undying honesty. Not being afraid to tell every secret your heart may hide. So what if you love the feel of dirt between your toes? Love is the ability to express yourself in every way without being afraid of getting embarrassed. Dancing in your underwear, singing in the shower! Love is Freedom of the soul! In the end, I guess the answer to what love means to me is that....Love means Living, and that is something I will never give up.
