The warm breeze blew against my skin and the sand felt soft under my feet. The sun was just rising over the sea and it looked beautiful. The sky was filled with its golden and red glow and the ocean sparkled under its morning rays. The waves broke gently lapping against the shore. I took in a deep breath, filling my lungs with the sea air. What an amazing morning. I felt on top of the world. I had finally done it.
The night before this glorious morning I had the privilege of meeting Tim. Tim, Tim, Tim, Ahhh, Tim. It was at a party at my friend Ruby's house. Her parents were away in France so we were let loose. Ruby's house was ace for parties. She had a great pool and plenty of rooms to hide away in if you got lucky. I had never previously gotten lucky. I was a later starter into the pubescent years and had always been rather shy with the boys. The few that had tried to seduce me, as I recall, were exceptionally drunk. One had ended up falling asleep on my shoulder after slurring " Yoush bootisful" and vomiting in my lap. The other was just, erm well, just unacceptable to the human eye. I think in a way that I may have also been waiting for the one that seemed right, well that's what I told my friends who had all previously had the pleasure of bumping bits' with the opposite sex.
Billy had bought his DJ kit and was playing some classic dance music. I love dancing. I'm not particularly good and my friends say when I'm drunk I'm even worse and look like a chicken trying to fly. Thank goodness that at the time Tim walked in I was, neither drunk nor dancing. I was sat by the pool on the end of Ruby's sun lounger watching Neil and Adam acting out their own version of Jaws. Ruby suddenly jumped up from lounger which of course meant my end dropped to the floor making me role unexpectedly into the pool. As I moved the wet hair from my eyes cursing at Ruby I noticed someone stood next to her who I had never seen before. My God he was gorgeous. Ruby introduced him as her cousin Tim. He bent over smiling offering me a hand out of the pool. We made light of the whole lounger fiasco and went to get a drink.
Most of the evening was spent talking and laughing together. For once I didn't feel shy but felt we connected. The next I knew it was 12 o'clock and I was beginning to feel a bit tipsy. I excused myself and went to freshen up a little in the bathroom. As I stood splashing cold water on my face, I looked at myself in the mirror. Wow, you go girl. He's great, this could be your lucky night.' I congratulated myself a bit more with a little dance round the bathroom. As I left the Tim was waiting outside. He smiled at me with a mischievous look in his beautiful brown eyes.
"My rooms just up there, wanna come and have a look?" he said with a confident smile.
"Would love to" I replied. I followed him up the hall to his room. Oh god yes, this is it. Finally this is it.'
