The month of June is represented by both the Pearl and the Moonstone. The Pearl is the stone of success and contentment and is found inside molluscs such as Oysters and Mussels. The Pearl is a rare gemstone mostly found in the Persian Gulf and the Red Sea. It is white in colour and sometimes displays a hint of pink. Healers use the pearl to protect, bring about good fortune, increase integrity and aid concentration. The Moonstone is the stone of attraction; it is thought to attract love. The colour is mostly blue but can be found in grey, white, pink, green and brown. The Moonstone was first found in Sri Lanka and has been popular within Roman Jewellery since 100 AD. Healers use the Moonstone to treat spinal problems, disorders of the digestive system and to counteract negative emotions.

The Ruby is the birthstone for the month of July. Ruby is the stone of integrity and courage. Colours range from pink to orangey-purplish red and deep red; the most valuable Rubies are those of a true red. The Ruby was first found in China at around 100 BC. Rubies are thought to administer heat and power. Healers use this gorgeous gem as an aid to increase stamina and strength, cure headaches and treat disorders in the reproductive system.
August
The birthstone for the month of August is the Peridot, the stone of protection. It comes as sparkling green in colour with a touch of gold. The Peridot cannot be found in any other colour. This beautiful stone was first found in Egypt in 2000 BC. The Peridot was particularly popular during the middle ages and thought to protect against evil spirits. Gemstone healers use the Peridot to assist with problems of the liver and adrenal glands, and to protect the lungs and sinuses against infection.

The Sapphire is the birthstone for September, the stone of destiny. Sapphires are mainly a sparkling blue but can be yellow, orange, pink and mauve. Sapphires were not known before the Roman Empire but have since been favoured by royalty around the globe. The Sapphire is thought to enhance creativity and healers use this stone to treat, sore throats, headaches and blood disorders.
