Spring 2008 fashion trends for affluent, warm-weather residents

The spring of 2008 is all set to liven up fashion with a new set of trends for warm weather residents who can afford to treat themselves to some well deserved style. Last seasons fashion must haves have melted along with the snow, revealing a fresher, brighter look to complement the coming months.

The hot new style to sizzle along the catwalk is a heady mixture of romanticism with a futuristic edge. The power dressing of the 1980's has been injected into a softer, more mysterious, glamorous aspect of style. This look, when blended with more natural materials such as silk in the color of steel gray or arctic white with bold patterns, encapsulates the latest trends.

The maxi dress is enjoying a second innings which is a bonus for most ladies with its flattering lines and form. Those who like to hide their upper arms can match a delicate shrug or wrap to add sophistication to their dress, as well as extra coverage where it is needed.

The feel of the latest style is that of understated drama with a sophisticated edge. The designers of this age are looking to the future to create shapes that complement the human form. Shoulders on garments are substantial, but not heavy. Waists may be either pinched in, or retain a subtle hint of curvaceousness under billowing material or sleek modern lines.

Sunglasses are dark and intriguing, without last spring and summers over-sized appearance. The emphasis is on making the wearer interesting to observe, and doesn't rely heavily on unnecessary detailing as the look is simple and stylish.

Like-wise, clothing trends are sophisticated and have clean, clear cut lines and features. Excessive beading and reams of lace and embroidery with an ethnic feel are best locked away until they are set to reemerge a little in the autumn.

Accessories are as fashionable as ever, but have more substance and glamor as opposed to extra decoration to add interest. Metallic sheer scarves and white driving gloves to match unfussy, but adorable, white handbags have entered the realms of style and add an air of silver screen seductiveness to their owners.

Mens fashion has an angular dimension to it with definite features and with zips rather than too many buttons. The flying suit, or all in one, is the new rage amongst the young who can wear these with angular shaped business jackets for work or open at the chest for playtime.

Fashion this spring is functional, as well as impressive. It is useful and holds positive energy. Each
