Poetry: Dreams

by Farrell Walker

Created on: February 13, 2008

Hazy decent to the unknown.
Earth or sea, clouds or air.
Lion fish dance with lawnmowers
Mosquito eats the bear.

Colorless rainbows, nothing smells
late night TV shows merge.
Faces speak without language.
Monks sing a dirge.

Farmhouse roof below me now
familiar place forgotten.
People love me here I know,
Out of reach I watch them.

A reach to hug is met with grief,
death has taken hold.
Muses pull me skyward crying,
"Jesus save their souls!"

Why this murky tortured tempest
surly sleep will end the lot.
Sleeping now is waking restless
see the world dig my plot.

Squinted eyes in dream's firm grasp
I fight for light to see.
Screeching specters cease my slumber,
an alarm clock screams at me.
