What are excuses? There are a few definitions of the word that I would like to elaborate on. The first definition of the word excuse is: a reason or explanation, not necessarily true, given in order to make something appear more acceptable or less offensive. Now when one reads this definition what comes to mind? Everyone has given bosses or parents or whomever false statements (excuses) to cover up wrong doings or lies. But why go through the trouble in having to come up with an excuse. Why not just tell the truth and apologize for your wrong doings. If you look at it you can either stop lying and tell the truth or live life everyday making excuses for your stupidity and laziness.
Another popular definition is: to give false reasons that enable somebody to do something he or she wants to do or avoid something he or she does not want to do. The main thing behind this definition is making excuses for something you know is wrong but coming up with a lie to justify what you did. Why would one have to justify and come up with false reasons to make them feel better about something? Excuses do not make the bad, good. If someone does the right thing from the very beginning then they will feel better about the whole situation. The majority of people in the world today give excuses for there shortcomings. But why make excuses? Why can't we just put forth the effort to right the wrong and be a better person? If everyone would stop making excuses America and the world would be a million times better.
Everyone has heard the famous saying Excuses are like butt holes everyone has one and they all stink. The saying sums up how most feel about excuses when someone gives you one. Nobody in a higher position than you actually wants to hear some lame lie that you came up with on the way to work. Excuses for work are one thing that will not make you successful. If you want to get ahead in your career you need to put forth the effort and take time to change your ways. Giving an excuse for everything you mess up on is no way to live your life. Stop making excuses and live your life to the fullest. If you do this then you will definitely prosper in days to come.
