Why parents should set a good example to kids in sports

Parents have an obligation to set a good example to put them on the track of success for the rest of their lives. This should be obvious to any parent because the people that children try to emulate are their role models and as a parent you want to be one for your kids.

Kids will always go to their parents for information, nurturing, and love, because parents need to be there for their kids and they should always be readily available. Parents always have to work with their kids to learn the difference between right and wrong. They have to set the precedent early because that gets them ready to do the right thing for the rest of their life. When they have that valuable life lesson in hand, they can then pass that on for generation after generation.

Involvement is the key really for parents. Being involved with your kids life not only helps you make sure they are not swaying from the correct path, but it also shows them you truly care for them. And when you know what they are doing and where they are, you are keeping them safe and keep them away from any bad influences, whether it be drugs or a bad group of kids.

But you always have to remember that the bond between parent and kin has to be based on constant and unconditional love. When parents are inclined to punish whenever the rough gets going, it tends to strain the relationship. When a parent would rather get their child to do a chore by threatening them if they don't do it, rather than rewarding them when they do something right, studies show the child is less inclined to do what the parent is asking of them. It really is all about the child being able to trust the parent and vice versa and that can't happen with a disciplinarian parent.

Parents are, and always will be the most influential figure in their child's life if they want their kids to have a good life. There are just too many stories about how children who don't that role model in their life resort to drugs and violence and join gangs so they have people that will take care of them. So every parent should always remember to show love and care for your children to avoid these terrible pitfalls.
