Revenue sharing for writers

- at least at first. Some seem to do it, but they might ban it. You provide your affiliate information for certain programs in your account (Adsense, Amazon, eBay, Kontera) and make a portion of the profit. You also make money from referrals.

There are others, but these are the most popular ones ond definitely worth mentioning because the earning potential is very real. They're also well established and have a proven track record of actually paying their writers.

REVENUE SHARING FOR WRITERS - KEYWORDS AND OPTIMIZATION

Researching keywords and optimizing content is the single most important thing you can do to your articles to encourage their success. If you only have time to implement one of the strategies listed in the article, this would be it.

Use your favorite keyword research tool to find keywords that get a good amount of traffic, but not too much. Tools include wordtracker (freekeywords.wordtracker.com) and Google's (https://adwords.google.com/se lect/KeywordToolExternal). You don't want to choose the most popular keyword for your topic, but it should be getting around 50-100 searches a day.

Once you find a good keyword, put it once in the title, first sentence, body, one of the subheadings, and in the last sentence. Don't worry so much about keyword density because you're putting the keywords in important places. Then, just write the article naturally and make sure you have given the reader some great information.

PARTICIPATE IN THE SITE

Another important thing you can do to help maximize your profits is to participate in the site. Comment on articles, visit any forums, and use the site features as often as possible. Here on Helium it's important to rate articles, visit the forums, and give writers positive feedback about their articles.

This strategy not only adds to the goodwill of the site, but it also is a way to promote your articles. When people are curious about you because they saw your article comment or forum post, you get a pageview boost when they click your article.

PROMOTE YOUR ARTICLES

Another great thing to do is promote your articles. If more people read your articles, you increase your chances of making more - depending on the website revenue sharing model. Some pay based on advertising revene, some pay based on page views. Either way, more traffic is a good thing.

Use any method of promotion that you wish. Post newly published articles on your website or blog. Share your profile link in your email and forum signatures. Use social bookmarking sites like stumbleupon. Share your articles with your facebook, myspace, and twitter friends. There are many others, but these are some of the best.

FINDING SUCCESS

If you follow this three step plan, you will make money with revenue sites. Just remember that for all of them, quantity is as important as quality. The more you write, the more you make.
