How to become a MySpace superstar

Do you want to be a superstar? On MySpace anyone can become one. You don't need talent, you don't need to be an artist or a professional, you don't even need looks, or money. Oh, and you don't even need to know fancy programming and graphics languages. Sounds great, doesn't it? Here is your map to superstardom:

Create your account at MySpace, or if you have one already, even better. Now, go browse some "cool" pages of people. If you just created your account, you can do so by using the "search" function. This gives you an idea of what goes where, and how the pages are laid out. Looking at what other people do also gives you an idea what not to do. To become a superstar on MySpace, you have to be unique and different.

Once you have an idea of how you want your format to look like (colors etc), you can either get a pre-made layout, or make your own. To make your own, you will need to know some html and css. If you are lost already on what that means, fear not: Just go to any search engine and type in: MySpace layouts. There are a ton of free sites out there that will give you codes for layouts. Paste the code that you want into your "about me" section.

Now you may ask: If I have a pre-made layout, how do I make myself different? Now comes the fun part, where you will get to describe yourself. This is what will set you apart from everyone else. If you have some hobbies or things that are interesting, mention them. If you have some writing skills, use them to create a virtual portrait of your personality. Are you multi-lingual? Include that fact, and write a few sentences in all the languages that you know. That will attract friends later on that speak the languages you do, and this will make you an international MySpace superstar.

Do you listen to interesting music? Mention that fact and why. Make sure you list all the bands you listen to in your "music" section. A lot of people use those criteria to find friends. Speaking of music: You can also add a song to your profile that describes your mood or personality. This song will play when people look at your profile, and will also make people request you as a friend.

To add music to your profile, simply click the "music" tab on the tool bar at the top of the MySpace page, and type in a band name. You will get a list of pages, usually the official one will show up on top, with fan pages at the bottom. Go to the profile of the band page, and if you find a song that you like in their player that normally shows up to the
