Moving On

He was 16 years her junior. Blue eyes, chiseled features. And he made her feel alive! She had three almost grown children. Actually, just a few years younger than he.

As a single mother, she had been working long hours to raise her children. No time left for a life of her own. With years of hard work and the toll of child rearing showing on her face, she could not believe he was really looking at her. Let alone chasing after what appeared to be a dream.

At 37, she had taken her boys and run away. Joined with a carnival to show them some of the world they would otherwise never see. They all were strong and worked hard for the chance to be somebody. Then HE drifted into her world.

It caused the glow to fade. Once the love light faded, she was able to start to see. The little indiscretions that had, not only worried her children but, caused a gap in their relationship.

So, she confronted him. They separated for a while. Then he found where she had gone. He cried. Apologized. And seemed sincere. He told her things about himself that made her think he was changing. His whole story of his life had been a total lie. His name, his birthplace, birthday, everything. Even that his parents were really alive and living within one hundred miles of where they had settled. It was a cruel thing to do. All because of running from the law. She was a fool in love and even more than that. He still made her feel young. In body and in heart. So, she forgave him. Loving him even more. Because of the small truths he
