Google is a search engine, a verb or a noun. If you are new to Google, you must have heard about googling this search terms or google that question. As a beginner, how easy is it to learn the search tricks in Google? The best thing about Google is its simplicity of the tricks that could enhance your search. It is also what makes Google so successful.
{Trick 1: Widen your search}
The success of Google search engine lies in its ability to obtain results from any forms of search terms. Basically, you can type your entire question into the Google search box. This technique will widen your search and churn out all kinds of search results.
All these search results could serve as a starting point for precise search later. Therefore, the trick to start your search is to cast your net wide. This is like fishing in the ocean where you use a net instead of a fishing rod. Use the power of Google to give you more search results. Narrow your search at later point by learning from the search results.
{Trick 2: Web, images, maps, news or video}
In Google, you can search the types of information like web, images, maps, news or video. Using the first trick, you can google search on the precise type of information. For example, if you are looking for images, google the search terms under the images link on the top right hand corner of Google.
Another simpler method is to include the information types into the Google search box e.g. picture of Nike. This will also shows the web links of the results. The good thing about using the images link of Google is that the search results would show a preview of the pictures.
{Trick 3: Search all or local}
Google allows you to search globally or locally. This is another trick of narrowing your wide search. By default, your search is set to global search. This is a radio button at the bottom of the Google search button.
Depending on which country you are from, Google will detect your country and the other radio button would be set to search within your country. So, you can easily narrow your search results just by clicking that radio button to allow Google to search within your country.
{Trick 4: Search actual words by double quotes}
Try to google the whole sentence of words. From the search results, you would notice that the Google does not care about the order of words. This is the good point of Google where you do not have to remember the order of the words.
However, the problem comes when you want Google to search in actual sentence that you type.
