Ten things every man should be able to do

Ten things a man should be able to do. First I would have to say that a man should be able to provide for his family. He should be able to work, or by some other means generate income. Taking care of your family should be number one on any "Real Man" list. Secondly, a man should be able to express love. And not to a hobby or sport but to a human being. To often men are mistaken for heartless pigs who only love themselves, and though that seems to be a socially excepted description of us, a real man should be able to express love and affection to at least one other person besides himself. And not just show it but actually say the words. Number 3, A man should be able to admit when he has made a mistake. And although it sounds easy, believe me it is not. Men are creatures that thrive on pride and ego and "knowing it all" even when we're clueless comes with the territory. It takes a real man to evaluate a situation and decide if they're actually right or wrong. Number 4 kind of goes along with number 3, a man should be able to recognize his own vices and character flaws, and although it is hard to change them overnight a man should be able to identify them. Because if you can identify the problem you have a better chance of fixing it.

The 5th thing I think a man should be able to do is treat a woman with respect. After all they are the mother's of our children, so if you can't manage to treat women with respect and dignity then you are not a real man. Not all women deserve respect, mind you but as a whole, women are to be cherished and loved not beaten and cursed. Number 6, A man should feel comfortable with crying once in a while. Even at movies. If it's sad then it's sad. And I know you heard this one. "It takes a real man to cry" it's true. Number 7 "It takes a real man to walk away." A man, when faced with confrontation normally isn't exactly thinking about walking away. It's in our D.N.A to be competitive, but if you can walk away from an argument you really are being a bigger man, even if it feels like you wussed out. Exercising self-control is a big part of being a man, so what if some guys says something smart to you. Let it slide. Then you'll have nothing to regret later.

Number 8. On the other hand, a man should be able to defend himself and his family. You don't have to be Bruce Lee or Mike Tyson but if the moment arises and your loved ones are in danger, a "man" should be able to muster up some strength and courage to do something about it. Number 9 A man should be able to cook, something good, at least a steak. He doesn't have to be Chef Boyardee, but he should at least be able to manage some boxed mac and cheese.

Number 10 A man should be familiar with the outdoors. He should be able to set up a tent, build a fire and string a fishing pole. The elements shouldn't bother a man. He should be comfortable in freezing weather conditions and blistering heat. That is a man. No not really, but a man should be knowledgeable about these things even if they are not a Pro.
