the lumberjacking competition. You can cut down trees, eat your lunch and go to the lavatory in the Porto-sans.
OMG! Ponies!
The Keystone Frontier Fair puts you in the Wayback Machine and transports you to the days of the Wild West. You can pan for gold, and take an old-fashioned train ride around the Village of Keystone. There's even an (oh how cute!) petting zoo! Speaking of ponies, Keystone Stables offers horseback riding lessons, wagon rides and pony rides for the kids. Ranch style dinners and lunches are served by cowboys, or out of work ski instructors pretending to be cowboys. What more could you ask for?
When the Lifts Stop Turning, the Wheels Start Spinning
The chairlift-served Keystone Bike Park has a variety of trails that are suitable for all levels. Beginners and intermediates enjoy Let it Ride and Mosquito Coast, while expert bikers love the massive drops on trails such as East Forest and Eye of the Tiger. Mountain bikes can be rented at Keystone Sports in River Run.
Golf
Keystone has two superb golf courses. The Keystone Ranch course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. This 18-hole oar 72 course is famous for its rolling hills and breathtaking views of the Continental Divide and Ten Mile Range. The environmentally sensitive River Course at Keystone was designed by Dr. Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry. The course incorporates a diverse ecosystem of native plants, wildlife corridors, and wetlands. Occasionally, elk and other types of wildlife can be seen roaming through the course in search of their favorite treat: stray golf balls.
Seriously speaking, if you like to visit Keystone in the winter, there's no need to say goodbye in the summer. The mountains are calling you. Please return.
