Poetry: Words

Struggling words......

Laying on a back of moss
I am torn to be free,
Is it a day for my poet
Or the man in me?

I crave inspiration
From an ocean up high,
Readying for liftoff
My imagination tries to fly.

From my overflowing heart
Tales of love to tell,
It's just rehearsed romance
Making me yell.

I desire a golden word
One of riches bright,
I breathe into my depths
But find none in sight.

Babbling Brook Babbles me nonsense
I cannot understand its infinite tale,
Lucky stones bask in wisdom
All of which I try to grasp but fail.

There are words of pain
Ones I quiver to speak,
Talk of my lost parents
Makes warm tears leak.

I dream of spirits chanting
Drifting to a realm of cold,
I see them within my reach
A blessing I want to hold.

How can I rhyme with nature?
A star is just meant to shine,
It may not be apart of me
To form words others find sublime.

Crunched up paper and scribbles
The man inside has won,
A broken hand for my muse
For today these words are done.
