Reflections: Taking delight in life

a nice cup of tea and think, how lucky I am to NOW be here, drinking this tea, about to get into my warm, cosy bed. At LEAST I have a warm bed to sleep in. Many do not even have that. What a wonderful outlook on life!

This concept is not a new one. I'm sure you all remember the story of Pollyanna which was written by Eleanor H. Porter in 1913 and is now considered a classic of children's literature. Pollyanna was an orphan who had many more reasons than the most of us to hold a pessimistic view of life. However, she centered her life around a sweet philosophy which she called "The Glad Game", the substance of which consisted finding something to be glad about in every situation. Inscribed on a brooch Pollyanna had received from her late father were the words, "When you look for the bad in mankind expecting to find it, you surely will" spoken by Abraham Lincoln. Such words of wisdom!

The many articles featured in O's Guide to Life are as diverse as they are captivating and each will give you its own unique insight on how to live your best life. Certainly for me, reading it, together with a cup of coffee and a piece of French toast in the morning is indeed, a 5 starrer. It is not necessary to read the book from page one through to the end. Anytime you feel like you need a bit of inspiration, let the book fall open to any page and read away. I promise you, you won't be disappointed!
