Religion is one of the most dangerous weapons known to man. It has caused religious warfare for centuries. Not only in this country but in almost every civilization known to man. Not only does religion give man something to fight about, it gives them a reason to continue to fight. In Ireland the Catholics and the Protestants have been fighting for generations over petty religious issues that to any other person seems null and void. Who really cares have you worship God if you're both worshiping the same God?

In Salem Massachusetts in the 18th century women were burned at the stake because they were so called witches. Nothing they said could save there lives and the towns people justified these murders based on their religious beliefs and although they were killing women by the dozens they could rationalize it because they were holy God fearing citizens. All the people who were killing the so called witches didn't have to stand trial for murder because they were the law.

Now as you read this article, millions of women are being treated not as second hand citizens but worse than you treat your animals. They have to cover there hair in public. Look at the ground when they walk, preventing men from gazing upon them. They will never learn how to read or write. They will marry not who they love, but who their fathers tell them to. They are valued much like a car or a tv. If they displease their fathers they are punished. This may include death or worse and if they're killed then nothing happens to the murderers. Would you be punished if you sold your car or broke your television? Then why punish the father for destroying his property?

The crusades were Holy Wars based on Christians wanting to kick Muslims out of Israel. All because they wanted to own the land that there Lord Jesus walked on. They didn't care that these people had no clue who Jesus was or anyway of learning about him. But lets face it, they obviously can learn all they want when they're dead. The facts that billions of people had there lives cut short because of who they didn't believe in or because of where they live. This is one of the worst traits of humans that could ever be imagined or wanted. Killing based on religious beliefs that can not be proved.

The only way to give everyone a fair chance at life is to not allow religion to rule lives. This senseless waste of lives needs to be stopped. How can anyone say that they believe in a God that loves all man kind, then kill those who don't? Is it that important that all sinners be wiped from the face of the earth? And by what religious guidelines are we suppose to follow? How is it that everyone who believes in a God forgets that they are just as guilty as the rest of us? Everyone has something that so called religious people would consider a sin in there past. We can't forget that we all are humans and no one is perfect especially not religious bigots.
