I will get right to the point on this one, and please excuse me if I step on any toes in the process.
God created Adam from the dust of the Earth, according to the Good Book. If it had been recorded, on say a video camera back then, and we had the privilege of sitting back and watching how it was done today.
I ask the scientific world, how old Adam was on the day God created him? I guarantee that he would look older than one day old.
And if they could run test on him, how could a creature newly created, look like a full grown man?
Now I said that to say this, would it not be the same with a newly created Earth? The Bible says that in the beginning the Earth was without form, and void. How long was it around in that shape before God started his artistic master piece?
I have an open mind, and I see, and hear a lot of the scientific community disagreeing on one subject after another. Its getting to be down right comical, and I know they are serious about their professions.
I saw a program about the Egyptian Sphinx, and several geologist interviewed disagreed about its age, one geologist by several thousands of years.
For the most part it is hard for me to take the scientific world seriously. I have seen some Christian scientist, and to me they make more sense than the whole lot.
But then I have an understanding that comes from faith and not by sight, so it really doesn't matter to me how old the Earth is, it just is, period.
Then there is Eve, she was made from one of Adam's ribs. How long did Adam live on the Earth before she was created? How old did she look to be her first day on Earth? Was she a baby? I don't think so.
When it comes right down to it, the Bible has more answers to life's questions than the scientific world ever will. The Earth is old, but that is relative isn't it?
Another example of the scientific world in disharmony, concerns the shroud of Turin. After running repeated carbon dating, it is still up in the air as to where it is first century or thirteenth century or even later.
As the old gospel song says, we will understand it all by and by.
