THE SECRETS TO HAVING A BEAUTIFUL WEDDING ON AN AFFORDABLE BUDGET
You can have the beautiful wedding that you have always wanted, you just need to know how. Yes, the thought of having a wedding on a budget can be scary, but that does not make it in anyway, impossible. With this article, I hope to help you in making your day as beautiful and worry free as possible. The average wedding is between $10,000 and $15,000 these days, but with these simple steps, you can cut that by half, maybe even more then half.
Your job is to make a list of what you absolutely WANT, and what you absolutely DON'T want or need.
Here are some helpful tips.
THE WEDDING DRESS- Wedding dresses are extremely expensive, and I will tell you, you should NEVER pay full price for a dress your going to wear once. I know that I refused to do so, I found the same dress I wanted online and paid $117.00 for it, brand new!
How did I do this, you might ask? Simple, I turned to E-bay. Don't underestimate e-bay,they are extremely resourceful! There is a wonderful site www.1koo.com, they have an e-bay store as well but you can use the site directly. No you don't get to try it on before you buy it and that is a downfall, but this can literally save you a few thousand dollars depending on the dress you want. What I did was I got a dress that was literally three sizes bigger, that way the seamstress could take it in and fit me exactly where I needed to be fitted, it also gives you extra material, should you need some. The dresses are inexpensive and take a couple of months to receive as they are made overseas, but it is truly well worth it. The seamstress cost me only $50.00, therefore I got a dress that was worth $1800.00 for only $167.00 with alterations. I put that money that I was going to spend on my dress towards my violinist and harpest, had I not saved money on my dress, I would not have been able to do that. Also you can check out Davids Bridal online, they occasionally have $99 wedding trunk sales.
CEREMONY SITES- Consider having your wedding at the same place as your reception, this can save you big on Limo fees, which is something I did with my wedding. Consider any city sites such as (parks, your local beach or city hall). Also if you are getting married outside the country consider that more and more countries are putting their marriage license info online. Ask questions and don't be afraid to negotiate.
INVITATIONS- Get yourself some printing ink and some special invite paper
