Poetry: Letting go

IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN EASIER

It should have been easier,
Going back to you,
A simple word,
A changing of the heart,
And once again,
Love so true,
But the wall was solid built,
Too steep for being scalable,
Too thick for breaking through,
No choice but letting go,
No going back to you.
It should have been easier,
Why not a simple misunderstanding,
Instead of a blockade everlasting?
A relationship without amend,
No choice but to say, "unspoken friend".
It should have been easier,
Instead, it is the end.
