Finding the artist in all of us

Anyone who can draw a picture and color it in is an artist. You could say that most people are artists because most people can draw something or rather and color it in. The problem lies in the fact that most people don't see other people's talent until a genuine artist is dead or don't realize talent is something that isn't acquired without a great deal of time and effort.

It is a well known fact that many of the famous artists long since dead struggled to make a living from painting. I am certain if they were alive today that they would be astonished to see what their paintings are worth today. Many of their paintings done when they were alive were sold at bargain basement prices.

The fact that there was money to be made by dabbling in painting inspired me to try my hand at it. I had read somewhere that a lot of successful artists had no formal training and that suited me. I did not want to spend hours learning any process that would smother my creativity. I found an art supply shop and purchased a canvas ,some brushes and various tubes of paint.

I thought I would tackle a landscape as I thought that it would be best to start with something simple. If I could sell my landscape for fifty dollars then I would be making a few dollars profit after the cost of materials was deducted. I crafted an easel out of some scrap timber and set up shop so as to speak on top of a hill overlooking a beach. Nice touch I thought to myself. A nice landscape with blue skies with a few wisps of clouds, seagulls floating on the wind above the waves, waves crashing onto rocks ,surf coming in and throwing itself on the beach to be exhausted of its energy and so forth would have people cuing to enter my gallery.

Now the funny thing about finding the artist in you is knowing where to look. Plenty of people walking around and past me certainly gave me a curious look but then decided I was harmless.
My problem was that I didn't know where to start let alone where to look. Actually you do look a bit strange with a home made easel , a picnic table for you paints and brushes and a white canvas bereft of outlines with numbers printed on it telling you where and what colors to use. I was quite good doing paint - by -numbers and I cursed myself for not have some similar plan.

My audience was becoming restless.
"Hey mister," proffered some clever little boy."It's two o'clock now and the sun sets at five thirty. Mummy says we have to go soon .When are you going to
