prom date is the same height or shorter than your daughter, you might consider flats for the senior prom to keep everyone comfortable.
Shoe Color Selection
Color selection of your senior prom dress shoes can be a little tricky. You have heard the saying that black shoes match virtually anything. This is not the case. If you have a dress that is white or a light color for spring, black will be too much of a contrast and draw all the attention away from the senior prom dress. White does not always match either because there are so many different shades of white and your shoes can actually look out of place if you go with the wrong tone of white for a particular dress.
Take a small fabric sample of the senior prom dress with you when selecting your shoes. If you select white, find the closest tone match by using the fabric sample. If you can't do a fabric sample of the dress, take the dress with you in a garment bag. You can also find a matching color that is in the dress that you want to accent and pick up if you have the dress with you.
Shoe Style
The shoe style is important. You have made the choice of what height of heels or no heels to go with the senior prom dress. The next step is to determine if you want open toe or close toed. Remember not everyone has the best shaped toes and feet in the world. If you choose open toed make certain that your teen is comfortable with her toes and that you have a pedicure the day before prom to match her senior prom dress.
Open heel or strap heel shoes are very popular and come in both flats and heels. These are easy to put on and take off. They can also be worn for other occasions than just formals. If the dress is shorter than calf length, you might consider the shoes that have straps that wrap around the ankle and some that even wrap up around the calf for a classy look.
