The human liver is an important organ that is part of the process of detoxification our bodies do on its own. The liver helps remove toxins that come from the foods we eat and helps cleanse the human system overall. The liver produces bile from cholesterol and salts. When the system is working properly, it cleans any accumulated waste and toxins that have built up in the blood and helps eliminate them. When it is not working properly, the toxins are accumulated and begin to harm other parts of the body.
In order to function properly the liver needs water and glucose. However, it is prudent to note that the liver would benefit highly from some assistance in a complete detoxification as a regular part of your health regimen. A diet rich in water, fruits, vegetables, nutrient supplements and herbs can be helpful. There are many thoughts on what works best to detoxify the liver.
