In my opinion both capitalism and socialism are complete failures . The reason for such failure is the same in both cases , corruption .

Socialism is no where near as bad as we use to be brainwashed to believe as even Christ taught some socialism in such things as giving to the poor and helping the sick . I've witnessed here in Canada with our moderate socialism things like socialized medicine , unemployment insurance etc . They brainwash Americans to think socialized Medicare is not working which in some ways is a little true but it beats the American system to a severe degree even with the corruption . There just is No comparison if truth be known to be sick in England , France or Canada to being sick in a country like the United States . Socialism does win when looking after the sick over capitalism to a sever degree . The conservative Capitalist of America try to brainwash the American people to believe socialized health care don't work but reality is even the poor have a chance at good care in country's a little more to the left . Capitalism should be kept out of such things as looking after sick and elderly this is just something a country must do ,its not a area that should be used to only make money in .

The Unemployment insurance program which also came from Canada's left also seems to be working even though it is abused . So some parts of Socialist thinking do seem to work and have more compassion then capitalist thinking .

Socialism when it goes so far to the left it starts avoiding democracy really does not work at all . Communism I would call complete failure as the ruling party usually just uses the rest as their workers and servants . In Cuba a few years ago I was shocked when a local told me his good job payed 10 dollars a month in wages .I was also shocked when I invited a Cuban family to a nice restaurant at my expense to find the police come lug them off as it seems nice restaurants and beaches are off limits by law to locals . I do suspect the ruling party splurged in wealth though .

Socialism wants things state owned which does kind of take the drive out of possible go getters .The Capitalist though go to a other extreme and use government to restrict the resources for a handful of people . Here in Canada now even the fish in our ocean are owned by a few men . A fisherman has to buy the fish before he can go fishing
