Working from home is one of those things where there are a lot of advantages and it really depends on your personality as to which of those advantages appeals to you. Some of them also depend on your family situations. If your 19 living at your folks house it could be great, or it could stink because you want to be out more often. If you are a mom who wants to stay home with the kids it could be perfect or if you are a dad it might drive you crazy to be home with the kids and wife all day. All of this depends on your personality. So in no special order, here are some of the advantages to working at home:

Set Your Own Hours-
It is true that if you work from home you still need to work. It often takes time and energy. But you can decide when you are going to work, how long you have to work (no more sitting around having nothing to do, but not being able to leave till five), and if you have to do something else then you can always schedule work time at other times. This makes it easier to have a life since, you can schedule your work time around other things you want to do. It also allows you to sleep when it is best for you and work when it is best for you.

There is No Dress Code-
You don't have to worry about a uniform or a suit jacket and tie, after all if you choose not to get dressed at all, no one is going to care. You can do your work in your pajamas (or out of them) if you want to. You don't have to worry about fitting into a dress code!

Family Time-
You can schedule it so that family time is when you want family time to be. If you have young children you can watch them all while working from home. It takes discipline and it takes teaching them about your work needs. But you can save money from not needing a daycare and you can be with them more. You can have an easier time with them.

No More Sick Days-
Working from home lets you control your schedule so much that it doesn't matter if you are sick or not. You can do what you can and then be sick. If you can't work that day, put in a few extra hours when you are up to it, it can be that simple.

Cutting Costs-
Many of us commute to work, with gas prices the way they are, working at home can help cut your commuting costs. It can also cut your lunch costs now that you will be able to cook a meal at noon or cook something less expensive then what you would have heated up in the microwave at work. Other expenses you may be able to cut on while working at home include day care costs, maid service, eating out, and pet care services.

Each individual will have different advantages to staying home and working from there. For me, I enjoy what I do and love the freedom to do it when I want (with in reason). For many people, doing things they love really make the working from home appeal even more so. Whatever the advantages would be for you, they are there!
