There's no question that astrology can lead to a successful and profitable career. Just look at the facts, the wife of a United States President (Nancy Reagan) relied on one! But, will using an astrologer lead you to a profitable career? That is about as likely as winning the lottery, unless of course the astrologer casting your fate also happens to moonlight as a headhunter in the field in which you work.
Astrology is belief system that the alignment of the planets and stars, the "celestial bodies," affect your life, personality, and fortunes. Sure, an astronomical object can affect your life the sun shines on us every day, making life on this planet possible. The moon causes the tides, and influences soliton waves which, in the proper gravitational alignment, can smash shorelines and ships.
But how in the world can people believe that a star 2,000 light years away (that is the distance from the central star in zodiac sign Sagittarius to the Earth) is causing changes in their life? On a clear night, you can see this star (actually, it is a globular cluster, but that is a different story altogether) with the naked eye quite clearly, and with a radio telescope pick up pulsations in its rhythmic release of electromagnetic radiation.
But does being born during a certain 28 day span of days under an astrological sign's "influence" make you a party animal, or give you a strong temper? Will following a certain path based on that birthday lead to a profitable career? I suppose, if you decide to become an astronomer conducting science, or an astrologer, picking the wallets of people wanting to have faith in something. But following the advice of astrology for a profitable career is as wise as following a pig into a cave. Good for the pig, and bad news for you.
Gallileo debunked astrology. Copernicus likewise. Those lights in the sky are not gods influencing us, they are balls of fissioning gas, putting out radiation in a slow winding down based on the laws of thermodynamics. They are thermonuclear fireballs, or hunks of rock, or giant balls of gas. They are part of an ancient belief structure struck down by rational science centuries ago.
They are not the basis for career decisions.
