Now, I had to write about this topic because as much as I kill myself in a 40+ hour a week job with NO BENEFITS, NO HEALTH COVERAGE, NO UNION, then yes, I would just love to know what my lovely government does with MY money? Does tax dollars go into job training programs so individuals would be able to work towards getting better careers? Does tax dollars go towards social programs to help improve the lives of those who are in lower-income brackets? Does tax dollars go toward public schools? Does tax dollars go towards helping individuals (such as myself) achieve higher education without having to take out a bunch of high interest loans and slip even further into debt? I highly doubt it that my tax dollars go into anything that will help improve people's lives, not just here in New York, but in this entire country as a given whole!
The game that the Republicans, Conservatives, (and some Democrats) seem to be playing in these times is that they give all the big tax breaks to the filthy rich and wealthy and then put all the tax burden on those of us who have a much lower income. Recently, here in New York City, Mayor Bloomberg (Mr. Ka-Ching himself) actually told poor working folks to work more hours if we wanted to see more money in hour pockets; and some retard from the state of Georgia (I believe he was or still is a senator or whatever) gave the same stupid advise. The only reason some of these politicians want poor folks to work so hard is so our paychecks will make up for the tax cuts given to the aristocrats. That's all. Most of the time, when a you put in all these extra hours at your job (whatever it may be) that doesn't necessarily mean extra money for your pockets; it means extra money that the government can take from you for itself to put into whatever B.S. budgets that they would choose to put your hard earned money into. Let's just say, whatever they do take taxes for, the situation of the working poor in this country is not improving one bit.
Besides the working poor putting in more back breaking hours in dead end jobs just to make up for the tax cuts that the rich receive, the U.S. government recently had the audacity to tell working folks like myself that we are being "selfish" by trying to file for our taxes and get some of the money back that we have busted our behinds for. It's my damn money; it's what I WORKED for; and I know that my own taxes (that is when I do have a full time job) goes to help other people who are on welfare, collecting
