I recently came across some disturbing websites about anorexia. But instead of trying to actually help the sufferers, these websites brainwash people into believing that anorexia and bulimia are good, rewarding things. These websites have become really popular and widespread across the Internet. They are cleverly made to target young girls by using colorful, fun looking pages.
These websites started out in 2001, where they where just innocent support forums. They were designed so that people suffering from eating disorders could talk to others in the same boat, so they felt they didn't have to suffer in silence.
But now some sick people have put time and money into forcing this disorder upon young innocent lives. These websites look like an exclusive club that directly appeals to young girls. They start by using upbeat, encouraging language that actually does make you think that an eating disorder is rewarding. They use 'Th-inspiration' pictures of slim, good-looking women to try and hypnotize young, vulnerable girls into forming this disorder. Why anyone would want to do this i can't understand.
These youngsters post tips on how to hide food and give each other encouragement about keeping up the starvation. They talk about diet pills and laxatives and the obsession with food intake is unmistakable.
These websites are very believable to young girls and need to be stopped. The content in some of the websites is so bad that instead of using good-looking models as inspiration, skeletons are shown as it is believed that bones are beautiful.
The only way to do this is to help ban these illegal websites and help stop this sickening craze. If anyone has any ideas about how to help stop these websites reaching young girls then please could you let me know as i really want to help.
Just think, their next victim could easily be your own child.
