I live in Michigan, we call our state "the one state recession". We have lots of plants going out of business so it leaves those seeking work low paying service jobs and a family can not live on that pay, even if there are two people in the household working.

Poverty from these low paying minimum wage jobs we now have is increasing and the people who have these jobs live from pay check to pay check, mostly without health insurance, hoping nothing goes wrong with their health, their children's or a car if they have one, for bills outside the normal are not usually able to be paid.

Every time businesses hear that the minimum wage will be raised they yell and holler about it, but their profits keep increasing, why does their management, the real upper management not take a pay cut so those under them can have an increase in pay, don't we all have a right to live the "American dream"? No one expects to go to college and then have to flip burgers for minimum wage, it is insulting for sure to them, but it is a job, and one has to have hope for something better, but until then, bills have to be paid, loans paid off and where is the money to come from?

Credit cards, they seem to prey on the low income with their higher interest rates, but to someone who needs things a credit card can help, but if you miss a day or two of work, get a job loss, then your credit card goes unpaid and you are in a financial mess.
