The sun is now set
in the air a cool stillness
I listen to that song
as my soul I undress

Night has fallen over us
as I sit alone naked, innocent
I trip up on the stars in the sky
and wonder if they've read what I've sent

The fairies will take me away one day
and I will find you again someday
One more time we'll be that happy
One more time we'll fly away

Am I as open as I think I am closed

or is the iris of my eye
Too smoky, too vacant
can you see what is inside?

My intentions are swept away
lost in a glitter of butterfly wings
I am left cross legged on the ground
as the man in the stereo sings

Maybe I'm not a poet
is a poem a poem if not read
Has there ever been meaning
in anything I've said

The moon above us
the birds now asleep
My dream lies unwaking
as the memory I keep
