The Premiership players are the elite the best of the best. If you are playing in the premiership you are going to get paid extremely well and your lifestyle will be very comfortable indeed. You could be invited to promote brands to increase your income, you could be asked to help young kids to enhance their abilities. You have the world at your feet. Now all you have to do is win the the premiership.

How often do you turn off the TV once the premiership results have come in. Unless you are a die hard Stoke fan you are not going to be the least bit interested. Unless you have a cousin or brother or friend is playing in the lower leagues you are going to go to the pub.

The football league has up and coming players, like Rooney he played for Everton before he went to Manchester United. Theo Walcott played for Southampton before being snatched up by Arsenal. But look at them. They did not last long in lower ranked teams. Yes Everton were in the Premiership then and are still now, but we all more or less know who is going to win premiership each year. Does this make it dull? No not really because football can be unpredictable there are always surprises around the corner.

The divide between the Premiership and the Football league is tremendous. This is the reason you see year after year recently promoted teams getting hammered. If we take the big three as I call them: Arsenal; Liverpool and Manchester United. Did you know Arsenal is the 7th richest team in the world? Manchester United is extremely popular in Asia; more so now they have Ji-Sung Park and Fangzhuo Dong in their first team squad. Liverpool attract popularity with Stephen Gerrard in the squad who is undoubtedly one of the best midfielders in the world.

When one watches Ronaldo do his tricks whether you are a fan of Man U or not you have to admire his amazing skill. I think we have to be very thankful Rooney is British. He is a magician when it comes to scoring. He is so strong and can push his way past defenders with ease. Look what Arsenal have Cesc Fabregas a midfielder who scores regularly; even William Gallas a defender has scored a couple this season!

What can the football league give us? The lower leagues their pitches are so bad the game can be a bit of a farce. The class of the premiership just is not there. Sure we are still entertained, but if you can have the whole cake why settle for just the icing?

It would be ridiculous to argue that the Championship and Leagues One and Two have more to offer soccer fans than the Premiership.
