Too often you look at the same strategies which worked for you in the past and want to try them. Funny thing, these same strategies will not work today. Yesterday is over, and today demands more ideas, brighter solutions, and persistence to make the necessary changes to reach you goals today. I will offer a number of tips which you can use in your working and personal life to make it more exciting, enjoyable and worthwhile. Tip #l: There are many hard knocks, lessons, setbacks, in daily living. In order to deal them requires the ability to look at each one as an opportunity to show your ability and resilience. You know you can handle things in your life, but all of us, have the tendency to step away from the problem, hoping by hope that it will go away. Face the issues involved in your life, then stare in down, try a new idea. When you fail to succeed then turn on your resilience, the ability to work hard on an issue, and call on your inner confidence to see the job to the end. Keep seeing yourself succeeding, and going over the finish line of life. Tip #2: Evaluate your skills, talents and abilities regularly, and choose the one which will work for you. Just because you never did any selling in your life, does not mean that you cannot use those working skills you developed as an engineer,and become a great salesman. You taught a year of accounting in college, this should be enough accounting experience to take the finance job in New York. Tip#3 Give yourself credit for the lifetime experience you have developed over the years. You cannot buy this experience, and it could be used in all aspects of your life. Too often, people forget their former jobs, and never mention them in job interviews. So can you. Make a list of all your jobs, and include in a column next in each job what you learned, how you learned it, and what will help you in your career today, tomorrow and next week. You are the dean of your own university. Make your skills count for you. Tip #4 Replace the "what-if" with the "what-is" possible in your
