Negative people can have a significant impact on how we view life. But at some point, we must ask ourselves if we're in control of your own environment, or do we allow others rain on our parade?
There are those who will always see a glass half empty rather than half full, and if we listen to them long enough, we may be convinced to see things their way. Negative people can effect our positive energies in an adverse way, but only if we allow them. We alone guide the direction of our thoughts, and we must never let anyone rob us of that privilege.
How others effect our moods and feelings can only be determined by the amount of importance we place on what they say or do. Being passionate about our convictions gives us the foundation to stay positive, regardless of what anyone else might say. A strong tree is hard to blow over when the roots are strong and deep. Negativity does not have to take root in our lives.
Weeding negative people out of our lives sounds like a good way to keep them from effecting our happiness. But that may not always be practical. In some cases, they can be family members or co-workers who we must interact with daily. They may not know that they are draining us emotionally, so we need to make them aware. Sometimes, their input is just not welcome. Having confidence in our own thoughts and ideas enables us to remain strong in our principles. We must stand firm in our own system of beliefs rather than fall to the disruptive opinions of others.
There are several types of negative people, and their effects on us can vary. Some are more vocal in their objections to your dreams, while others are more suggestive. In reality, the effect of either can be devastating if allowed to take root.
DREAM KILLERS
There are people who see only the challenges associated with our ambitions and tell us that pursuing them is a waste of our time. They may have failed in their own attempts at success and have given up hope, believing that the risks of succeeding greatly outweigh the benefits. With them, we must communicate a well researched plan, complete with a step-by-step agenda for achieving it. They must be shown that the risks have been calculated, and that there are solutions to both minimize and eliminate those risks. The benefits must be detailed and seen as rewards for your efforts.
CRABS
Some people prefer to stay in their comfort zone and want you to stay there with them. They would rather hinder than help, and tend
