How to watch TV on the computer

Watching TV on your computer is simple. You just have to know where to look. It also helps if you have a fast Internet connection. Dial-up is not recommended for watching TV, especially if you're streaming it. I would just use a regular TV if you have dial-up.

If you are fortunate enough to have high-speed Internet, you need to decide what type of TV you want to watch. Do you want to watch live TV or just episodes of a show you missed? Yes, you can find the Family Guy you missed last week, THE LEGAL WAY!

Yes, ladies and gentleman, the illegal way (downloading) is not recommended. It can come with viruses, lawsuits, and just plain evil things.

If you want to watch live TV, a good website is TVUnetworks.com. It's free to download and use. There are some channels you can subscribe to for a fee, but there are a lot of great free channels. Do you speak Chinese, French, Italian, Spanish, or Russian? There's channels from all over the world in many languages. I clicked on Comedy Central and turned my actual TV on Comedy Central. It was not the same show. I believe that it is on Pacific Time and not Eastern/Central Time so it doesn't sync up exactly. I'm sure it's just a couple hours behind.

There are a few ways to LEGALLY find your favorite episodes. If you just wanted to watch your show with limited commercial interruption (about 15 to 30 seconds of commercials), you could check the network website. If you wanted to watch Family Guy, check Fox on Demand on Fox.com. If you missed Scrubs check NBC.com. There are only a couple recent episodes on those sites. You could also sign up for a beta testing of Hulu.com. Hulu contains the most recent five episodes of Universal Pictures shows such as Family Guy, The Simpsons, Chuck, and Saturday Night Live. They also have lots of clips from various episodes.

If you would like to download your shows, you would have to purchase them from iTunes for just $1.99 each. You can also get a good deal on season packs. If a show has ended its season, you can pay for and download all of the episodes at once. You may also want to prepay for a season in progress. This is called a Season Pass. The new episode will automatically download into your iTunes library every week.

Whether you want to watch live TV or just specific shows or episodes, the Internet is the way to go. It's not always free, but it doesn't have to cost a fortune.
